Absolutely! The final session we have is our show-and-tell time where the children’s masterpieces will be on display for everyone to see! We will also present our drama and some of the songs we learned. After that evening, the children will bring everything home for you to put on display!

Once you drop off your child/children, we will practice our SHINE song together with the percussion instruments of their choice. Lots of energy will be needed right away as they sing and dance to the music!

When everyone is ready to go, we will move over into our creative arts program where they will learn about different artists and have the opportunity to try out some of their styles. Sometimes this will involve using paint; sometimes crafting with clay; we will create with oil pastels; or crafting with yarn or other mediums to create a replica of a famous art piece. Moving into the broader definition of creative arts, some evenings we will do Reader’s Theatre (drama with a twist!), and some line dancing as well!

Your child will be introduced to some unique and fun percussion instruments!

There will be volunteers helping to run the program which is being designed by Joanne Sutherland. Joanne will be on hand every night along with all the other great people, making this a fun and engaging program for your child!

Joanne is a retired elementary school teacher with a passion for children and the arts. She has been involved with camps, dance, music, and creative arts of all types ever since she was in university. She loves to have fun and share her passions!
