As we continue on our journey through the Lenten wilderness, follow Jesus as he lives his 40 days in the desert.
Be open to what emotions today’s illustration invokes for you, what details catch your eye, and consider why you might be affected by it in this way.
Then, to go deeper, if it’s helpful, contemplate each of the following questions, allowing time to fully answer each one:
“Get back from me, Satan.” When have you taken a stand against your temptations? What was the biggest temptation? The smallest? How did it feel to stand up to the temptation? What did it take to do it? Was there anyone who helped you do it? Do you get help from God with your temptations? How is staying true to yourself and your plans part of how you Never Give Up? Today, be aware of your yes’s and your no’s, and don’t be afraid to say ‘No’ when you have to. (Also celebrate Maundy Thursday and the Last Supper tonight.)
