As we continue on our journey through the Lenten wilderness, follow Jesus as he lives his 40 days in the desert.
Be open to what emotions today’s illustration invokes for you, what details catch your eye, and consider why you might be affected by it in this way.
Then, to go deeper, if it’s helpful, contemplate each of the following questions, allowing time to fully answer each one:
At the halfway point of the journey, it’s good to be reminded of our freedom. Would you like to have the wings of a bird to fly away from the journey all together? Or would you use those wings to fly to the end? Or to look over the whole path you’ve taken and have yet to take? Is God like a bird looking over you on the journey or perched on your finger encouraging you along the way? Do you have wings to fly and Never Give Up? Remember you have the freedom to continue on this Lenten journey or not, so take some time to be thankful for all the freedoms you enjoy.
