As we continue on our journey through the Lenten wilderness, follow Jesus as he lives his 40 days in the desert.
Be open to what emotions today’s illustration invokes for you, what details catch your eye, and consider why you might be affected by it in this way.
Then, to go deeper, if it’s helpful, contemplate each of the following questions, allowing time to fully answer each one:
“I’ll give you all this, if you’ll bow down and worship me.” Have you been in a situation where you can do what’s right or what’s popular? How did that problem make you feel? How did you decide which way to go? Do you regularly choose one way over another? Does that make your decision easier or harder? How forceful have you had to be about your decision? Does God’s plan factor into your decisions? Does it help you Never Give Up? Notice the number of choices you have to make today and honour how many times you make the better one.
