As we continue on our journey through the Lenten wilderness, follow Jesus as he lives his 40 days in the desert.
Be open to what emotions today’s illustration invokes for you, what details catch your eye, and consider why you might be affected by it in this way.
Then, to go deeper, if it’s helpful, contemplate each of the following questions, allowing time to fully answer each one:
Let the rest of the world go by. Has it felt good at times to just get away from everything else? For peace? For rest? For rejuvenation? Has the world exhausted you so much that you’ve needed to get away? Do you have a special spot to go to? Do you need to be alone or would you rather be with someone? Does God go with you? Does letting go of some things remind you to Never Give Up on others? Take a few minutes to write down some of the busiest things you need to take a break from to truly be at peace, then let the list go both physically and mentally/emotionally/spiritually.
