As we continue on our journey through the Lenten wilderness, follow Jesus as he lives his 40 days in the desert. Be open to what emotions today’s illustration invokes for you, what details catch your eye, and consider why you might be affected by it in this way.

Then, to go deeper, if it’s helpful, contemplate each of the following questions, allowing time to fully answer each one:

We all plead for help sometimes. When have you felt like the evils of the world have run you right over? Did you have the energy to fight them or did you just want to hand everything over to God? When did you last plead with God? How did you feel? Was it cathartic? Did you discover anything about yourself? Did you feel that God answered? Could you actually say in all honesty, “Ill Never Give Up?” Make a list of things you’d like to plead for from God and offer a deep, heartfelt prayer.
